Objectives:
Create a home inspired by the New England-style architecture of the client’s childhood. The home should be designed to take advantage of the view and include a living room, dining room, family room, foyer, powder room, kitchen, and breakfast area; upstairs should have four bedrooms, including a guest room and playroom for the children.
The Glenn Home
Outcome:
The large New England-style home features light and airy interiors, cedar shingle siding, and custom windows and doors. Wainscot was installed throughout the foyer, stairs, and upstairs landing area; the foyer was designed as a see-through, providing a view to the back from the front door. The kitchen, which includes a breakfast area and children’s study, was placed at the rear of the home to take advantage of the view. Also with a view are the upstairs master bedroom and guest room, including the balcony and deck areas; the children’s room and playroom face the property’s front. An extra-wide hallway with a row of skylights provides access to the bedrooms and playroom. A trellis-covered rear terrace offers plenty of outdoor living space, while an infinity pool was constructed to maximize the view.ABOUT
