Based in Pacific Palisades, California, and serving the Los Angeles Westside communities and beyond, RLB Architecture is an award-winning architecture and design firm specializing in new residential design and custom remodels and additions. Working in a range of traditional architectural styles quintessential to Southern California, our firm employs timeless design principles combined with excellent craftsmanship and personal service to give our clients the home of their dreams.

Where We Came From

RLB Architecture was founded in 1997 by Principal Architect and native Angeleno Richard Blumenberg, AIA, LEED AP. With over 30 years of experience in both the residential and commercial sectors, our firm has primarily focused on high-end residential projects, including new home builds, remodels, additions, condo remodels, and spec houses for developers. With a long list of satisfied clients past and present, our firm also consults for five local homeowner associations and is a trusted source for local realtors seeking advice about specific properties. Highly respected in our community and with over 200 residential projects in the books, we’ve been featured in House Beautiful, House & Garden, California Homes, and Luxe, among other publications.

As a firm that values personal service and collaboration, we’ll work with you and your team to create the home you’ve always wanted. We’re not a firm that disappears after the design phase; we’re there to guide you from start to finish, utilizing our extensive knowledge of local codes and zoning and drawing from years of experience working with contractors and observing construction. Valuing teamwork over ego, we work with your contractor, interior designer, landscape architect, and other chosen consultants throughout your project’s design and construction phases to ensure you get the home of your dreams. From predesign to end of construction, RLB Architecture will not only be your architect, but your guide, your facilitator, and your partner.
